Fourth-Ranked Argonauts Gain Revenge Against Lions

PENSACOLA, Fla. - After losing to Freed-Hardeman at home in the first match of the season last year, West Florida was looking for payback on Friday afternoon. West Florida swept the doubles matches en route to a 7-2 triumph over Freed-Hardeman at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carson Tennis Complex. West Florida improved to 3-0 on the season. Freed-Hardeman, the third ranked team in the NAIA, evened their record at 1-1.
After sweeping the doubles matches, West Florida won four of six singles matches, including straight set wins by Dante Bottini (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Drury Univ.) and Diego Zorzi (Buenos Aires, Argentina/Manuel). Thirty-seventh ranked Nicolas Barrientos (Cali, Colombia/Colegio Akademos) and Luis Arboleda (Medellin, Colombia) were forced to go to a third set tie-breaker in both of their matches, but both players came out victorious.
West Florida will put their perfect record on the line on Saturday against 11th ranked South Carolina-Upstate. The match will begin at 12 p.m. EST in Columbus, Ga.
