West Florida Finishes Regular Season by Extending Winning Streak

PENSACOLA, Fla. - After going undefeated against Division II regular season unbeaten, top-ranked West Florida faced Division I Southeastern Louisiana at the Ralph "Skeeter" Carlson Complex on Wednesday. West Florida completed the regular season with a 7-2 win. West Florida improves to 21-2, while Southeastern Louisiana falls to 10-9.

Playing without Diego Zorzi (Buenos Aires, Argentina) due to a hamstring injury, the Argonauts managed to win all three doubles matches. West Florida's second- ranked team of Dante Bottini (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Nicolas Barrientos (Cali, Colombia) improved to 18-3 on the season with their first position doubles win.

West Florida also won four of the six singles matches in straight sets. Luis Arboleda (Medellin, Colombia) won in the fourth position to improve to a 17-4 in singles. Playing in the sixth position, Mark McGuigan (Pensacola, Fla./Woodham HS) only lost one game to improve his singles record to 6-1.

West Florida will defend their Gulf South Conference title on Apr. 21-22 at the GSC Tournament. The event will be held on the campus of Henderson State University in Arkadelphia, Ark.
