TALLAHASSEE, FLA. - Both Michael Padilla and Ramad Hicks qualified for Nationals at Florida State's Snowbird Invitational last Friday and Saturday (March 4-5). Padilla qualified in dramatic fashion by winning the 1500 meter race with a 3:53.98. Padilla's time shattered the oldest UWF track record still standing (1500 meters) set in 1992 by Troy Wiltshire. Padilla finished in first out of 57 runners. Hicks finished in second place out of 40 runners in the 800 meter race, with a 1:52.43 time. The time broke his own UWF 800 meter record set in 2003 at FSU. Also, in the 3000 meter steeplechase, Dan Bauer finished third out of five runners with a 10:31.71 time. |
