No. 10 UWF Heads to Miami for NCAA South Regional
Argonauts to Face Morehouse in First Round
INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The tournament field for the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis Championships was announced on Wednesday, and No. 10 West Florida earned a berth as the No. 3 seed at the NCAA South Regional hosted by Barry University in Miami Shores, Fla. Barry will act as one of two hosts for the region, as Lynn University hosts the other side of the tournament.
The Argonauts will face Morehouse on Thursday, May 7 at 1:00 p.m. ET in their opening round match. If UWF advances, the Argos will face Gulf South Conference rival No. 7 Ouachita Baptist, seeded No. 2 in the regional bracket, on Friday at 1:00 p.m. ET. The championship match is scheduled for Saturday at 10:00 a.m. ET.
The winner of each of 16 preliminary round sites will advance to the NCAA Division II Men’s Tennis National Championships on May 13-16 in Altamonte Springs, Fla., with each region advancing two teams. In 2008 the Argonauts advanced to the semifinals of the national tournament in Houston, falling to eventual national champion Armstrong Atlantic State.
