The Argonauts took two easy sets from the Wolves with matching 25-14 scores at the beginning of the match, but struggled in set three. The Wolves went up 6-0 in set three, and West Florida was faced with an uphill battle. The Argos could only come within three for much of the set before the Wolves produced a huge deficit with a 17-9 lead. A UWF timeout forced a UWG service error, and from their West Florida began their fight. Nichols led the effort with four kills from that point on, earning an Argonaut side out that was within one of UWG at 20-19. The junior then served the Argonauts to a 25-20 victory on an eight-point run that included two of her aces. Two kills from Brathwaite closed the match in the victory.

The Argonauts hit the road next week as they travel to the Gulf South Conference tournament, beginning their postseason quest. Official information on the East Division pairings will be made available as soon as possible, along with official match times for next week’s tournament that begins on Friday at Harding University.
