Offensively the Argos were led by Senior Greg Pron (Daphne, Ala./Daphne HS)  and Junior Josh Huggins (Bay Minette, Ala./Faulkner State CC (Baldwin County HS). Pron was 2-2 with two runs scored and two RBIs, both coming on a two run homer. Huggins was 1-3 with one run scored and four RBI, all coming off a grand slam in the seventh inning.

Jerry Hildreth led the game off with a stand up double to left field and later came around to score off an RBI sacrifice bunt by Derek Wallace. The Argonauts answered in the bottom half of the first inning when Pron blasted a two run homerun over the left center wall, making the score 2-1.

Mississippi Valley knotted things at two when Hildreth came around to score after two defensive miscues by the Argos in the top of the third inning. The Delta Devils regained the lead in the top of the fifth when Jon Neuberger led off with a single up the middle and later came around to score off a wild pitch by senior relief pitcher Zach North (Miami, Fla./Nova Southeastern (Westminster Christian), making the score 3-2.

Three consecutive errors by UWF in the seventh inning led to Neuberger and Curtis Ford scoring, unearned runs, adding some insurance to Mississippi Valley’s lead making it 5-2. The Argos answered back in the bottom of the inning with six runs.

Taye Larry’s (Panama City, Fla./Wallace State CC-Dothan (Mosley HS) RBI single to right center drove in Tyler Hastings (Valparaiso, Fla./Niceville HS) making the score 5-4. One swing by Huggins put the Argos on top 8-5, as he belted a grand slam to left center putting the game out of reach. West Florida tacked on two more runs in the bottom of the eighth off a two RBI single by Larry scoring Hastings and Korey Domenick (Festus, Mo./Mineral Area (Festus HS), making the score 10-5.

The Delta Devils plated two runs with two outs in the ninth, but was not enough as the Argos sailed their way to victory 10-7.
