UWF Athletics Mourns the Loss of Former Tennis All-American Kyle Hiers

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida Department of Intercollegiate Athletics mourns the loss of former tennis player Kyle Hiers, who died in a car accident on Friday, April 8.  Hiers was a student-athlete for the UWF men’s tennis team from 1988 to 1991, and he was a two-time All-American as an Argonaut.

Kyle, 42, is survived by his wife, Tanya Hiers, and children, Riley, Mary Madison, Kyle Noah and Hamilton Piers.  The visitation and funeral service is scheduled for Wednesday, April 13 at Southern Heritage Funeral Home in Pelham, Ala., with the visitation to start at 11 a.m. and the funeral at noon.
