West Florida to Host 2011 NCAA Baseball Division II South Regional
Regional Tournament to Begin May 19 at Jim Spooner Field

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The West Florida baseball team will host NCAA postseason play for the first time in school history, as the 2011 tournament field was announced in a selection show on NCAA.com Sunday night and UWF was announced as host of the South Regional. The Argonauts will be one of eight regional hosts for the 48-team field, and the eight-team, double-elimination regional tournament will begin on Thursday, May 19 at Jim Spooner Field.
The Argonauts (44-8) are the No. 1 seed in the region and will play No. 8 seed Stillman (26-17) in the first round at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. The complete regional tournament schedule can be found at the tournament home page online at www.GoArgos.com.
UWF students, faculty and staff will not be allowed free entry due to the tournament being an NCAA event, but UWF Athletics has purchased 100 all-session passes for students. The tickets will be available on a first-come, first-serve basis at the HLS Facility on campus at UWF during the following time periods: 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.
