Laatsch Signs with West Florida
Alabama High School Stand Out to Become Argo

PENSACOLA, Fla. – Briarwood Christian Academy senior Jason Laatsch has signed a national letter of intent to become a member of the University of West Florida’s men’s basketball team, head coach Bob Stinnett announced Monday.
Laatsch, a 6-2 guard out of Birmingham, Ala., averaged 18.5 points per game as a junior to go along with his 2.1 assists and 4.3 rebounds per contest. Laatsch also scored his 1,000th career point on Dec. 3, against Hueytown High School.
"Jason is a great young man and an excellent basketball player,” said Stinnett of his latest signee. “He doesn’t just play the game, he thinks it too. He is able to affect the game in so many different ways whether it’s stretching the defense with his shooting, passing to open teammates or playing great defense. Jason is a great addition to our team."
The Argonauts will be back on the court this week as they travel to face North Alabama on Thursday and Alabama-Huntsville on Saturday in Gulf South Conference play. For more information on Argo basketball and all UWF Athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
