NEW ORLEANS – Three women’s runners and one men’s runner from the West Florida cross country teams earned all-academic team honors, it was announced by the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Thursday. Ruth Ashley, Aimee Marsh and Renea Porsch from the women’s team and Brandon Skeie from the men’s team were UWF’s selections.
To qualify for the USTFCCCA All-Academic Team in Division II, the student-athlete must have compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.25 or greater through the most-recent semester, completed at least 12 credit hours in the semester of cross country competition, and placed in the top 50 percent at the most recent NCAA National Championships or in the top 30 percent at the NCAA Regional Championships.

Marsh and Porsch were both All-Gulf South Conference picks in 2011, and Porsch also earned an All-South Region award as the Argos placed second in the region. Ashley and Porsch also earned spots in the GSC All-Academic Team.
Skeie (West Creek, N.J./Southern Regional HS) had a strong freshman year for the men’s team, finishing as high as 10th in the team’s season opening meet at Mississippi College.
