Argonauts Breach Top Five, Ranked No. 4

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida baseball team broke into the top five in the national rankings this week jumping from No. 6 to No. 4 in the College Baseball Lineup rankings. Last week the Argonauts took the series, 2-3, from Gulf South Conference opponent Christian Brothers on the road and now sit 22-8 overall and 4-4 in the GSC.

The Argos rank No. 4 in the CBL rankings along with four other south region teams in the top ten. West Florida’s weekend opponent, Delta State, ranks No. 7 in the CBL. Reclaiming the top spot is Tampa, jumping from No. 4 with an undefeated week.

UWF also remains ranked No. 6 in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper poll with 398 points and climbed from No. 15 to No. 11 in the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association poll receiving 209 points. The NCBWA also ranks the Argos No. 3 in the south region with 53 points behind regional opponents No. 2 Tampa and No. 1 North Alabama.
