UWF Women's Cross Country Races in the North Florida Invitational
Sophomore Renea Porsch Ran the Top 5000 Meter Race for UWF This Year

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – The West Florida women’s cross country team raced in the Steeplechase, the 5000 meters and the 1500 meter race at the University of North Florida this weekend. Sabrina Seignemartin, Renea Porsch and Karyssa Tourelle-Fallon each ran their best races of the season so far.
Renea Porsch turned in the top 5000 meter time for an Argonaut this year, as she clocked a 19:23 time in the event. Porsch finished ninth best in her section. Hannah Brooks of Florida State University had the top time for the event in 16:20, as 44 individuals raced in the event. Karyssa Tourelle-Fallon (Navarre) clocked a 19:49 time for the event, which was also her top performance of the year.
UWF had two participants in the 5000 meter race. Sophomore Ruth Ashley (Altamonte Springs) completed her 5000 meter race in 20:17. Junior Celenne Morfin (Winter Haven) in her first race back from injury, recorded a 21:58 time for the event.
Junior Sabrina Seignemartin (Navarre) recorded a top five finish in the Steeplechase event. Seignemartin topped her previous best time by 28 seconds to run the 3000 meter event in a 12:11 time. The race has 28 barriers to jump, including 7 water jumps, and was won by Beatrice Biwott of the University of South Carolina in a 10:44 time.
Freshmen Audrey Carson (Pace) and Keyanna Dennis (Chicago, Ill.) competed in the 1500 meters. Carson clocked at 5:14 race time, while Dennis turned in a 5:20 performance. The overall winner of the 1500 meter event was Violah Lagat of Florida State University in a 4:24 time.
