PENSACOLA, Fla. – West Florida Military Appreciation Day, presented by Pen Air Federal Credit Union, is this Sunday, April 22, at 1 p.m. at Jim Spooner Field. Sunday is the Argonaut baseball team’s final home game of the season as they host Gulf South Conference opponent West Georgia.

The Wounded Warrior Project is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to honor and empower wounded warriors of the United States Armed Forces. The Wounded Warrior Project works to raise awareness and enlist the public's aid for the needs of severely injured service men and women, to help severely injured service members aid and assist each other, and to provide unique, direct programs and services to meet their needs.

Instead of purchasing tickets at the game, donations will be accepted from fans with all proceeds going towards the Wounded Warrior Project. All military members and their families will be admitted free of charge and will receive a free UWF t-shirt or baseball cap. In addition, kids will receive a coupon for a free fountain or frozen drink from Tom Thumb and will have the opportunity to jump in a bounce house, run the bases and meet the UWF players after the game.
