GAME NOTES: West Georgia

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida baseball team hosts Gulf South Conference opponent West Georgia this weekend April 21-22 in UWF’s final home series of the season. Saturday will be the team’s senior day and Sunday will be the Argos Wounded Warrior game.
Vs. UWG:
The Argos are 23-28 all-time against Gulf South Conference opponent West Georgia with UWF sweeping the Wolves last season. West Florida will look to extend their two game winning streak as they host UWG for the final home series of the year.
Argos in the GSC:
As a team the Argos lead the Gulf South Conference in walks (196), stolen bases (93), innings pitched (351) and putouts (1053). Individually Taye Larry leads the GSC in stolen bases (30), stolen base attempts (33) and stolen bases per-game (.79). Josh Tanski leads the GSC in batters struck out looking (25), Bobby Parker leads the GSC in saves (12) and in games finished (19). Drew Bryson has allowed the fewest runs on the hill in the GSC (18), earned runs allowed (15) and runs allowed per game (2.88). Brian Ellington tops the GSC in strikeouts per-game (12.19), Blaker Barber leads the GSC in assists (131) and Andrew Rodriguez leads in triples (4).
Stolen Records:
Taye Larry leads the UWF baseball team and the GSC in stolen bases this season with 30 which ties eighth in the West Florida records books for stolen bases in a single season. In his two year career as an Argo, Larry has swiped 56 bags which lands him eighth all-time in the West Florida records books for stolen bases in a career.
Senior Day:
This weekend is the final home series of the year which means it is time to honor the UWF seniors. Senior day will be on Saturday April 21 and will honor Taye Larry, Korey Domenick, Justin Bennett, Josh Huggins, Leo Lamarche and Phillip Ebert.
