INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. – The West Florida baseball team remains ranked No. 6 in this week’s NCAA South Region Rankings. West Florida is 34-17 overall on the season and finished the Gulf South Conference tournament 2-2.

UWF remains No. 6 in this week’s NCAA South Region rankings with a 29-16 regional record. GSC opponents Delta State and Alabama-Huntsville rank No. 2 and No. 5 respectively while Tampa holds on to the No. 1 ranking.

Eight teams from the South Region will earn a trip to the NCAA Division II South Regional, scheduled for May 17-21. Champions from each of the three conferences in the region, the GSC, SSC and Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SIAC), will automatically qualify. The five remaining at-large bids are awarded to the next highest ranked teams in the region. The top-ranked team is eligible to host the tournament, providing it placed a bid to host and has adequate facilities and accommodations for teams and fans.

The Argos will look to receive an at large big to the NCAA South Region tournament at the NCAA selection show this Sunday at 9 p.m. For information on all UWF Athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
