Parker Named to Daktronics All-South Region Team

BOCA RATON, Fla. – Argonaut closer Bobby Parker (Tallahassee, Fla./Alabama Southern CC (Lawton Chiles HS) was named to the Daktronics All-South Region first team as a relief pitcher, it was announced Thursday. Parker accompanies four other Gulf South Conference players on the Daktronics All-South Region first team.
Parker leads the West Florida baseball team and the GSC with 13 saves, which ranks second in UWF single season history, and sits tied first in the GSC with 22 games finished. He posts a 1.65 ERA with a 3-2 record in 23 appearances out of the bullpen. Parker has allowed just one extra base hit on the year, a double, and has held opponents to a .202 average.
Parker and the West Florida baseball team will look to defend their 2011 Regional Championship this week at the NCAA South Region Tournament hosted by Tampa. The Argos will play Nova Southeastern Thursday May 17 at 2 p.m. For information on all UWF Athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
