Guste-Pedersen, Rodriguez Named to PING All-Region Team
Guste-Pedersen Earns First All-Region Nod

NORMAN, Okla. – After successful senior seasons, Thomas Guste-Pedersen (Helle, Norway/Frank Phillips) and Carlos Rodriguez (Cali, Colombia/Austin Peay) of the West Florida men’s golf team were named to the Division II PING All-South Region team as announced by the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA). The all-region nod was the second for Rodriguez and the first for Guste-Pedersen.
Rodriguez’s season was one to remember, as he totaled three tournament wins, tying a school record for single season wins. The Gulf South Conference Player of the Year finished the season with a scoring average of 71.30 and 0.03 over par. His season included 10 rounds in the 60s and 17 of par or better. He had a historic start to the season, shooting rounds of 65-64-70 - 199 at The McLaughlin. His 64 in the second round matched the single best round in school history. Rodriguez also earned first team All-America honors as announced earlier by the GCAA.
Guste-Pedersen finished his two years at UWF with a strong senior season, posting a scoring average of 73.15 and 1.88 over par in 33 rounds. The Norway native had four top 10 finishes, including three top five finishes in his first four tournaments of the year. Guste-Pedersen also finished his college career with an All-GSC selection.
