Transfer earns honor after leading the Argo defense in three wins

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – West Florida keeper Sarah Story (Hoover, Ala./Darton) was named the Gulf South Conference Defender of the Week in just her second week as an Argonaut.

The junior transfer shutout Mount Olive in her second game of the season while recording five saves on Sept. 3, held Rollins to one goal while recording a save on Sept. 7 and limited Florida Southern to two goals while recording six saves on Sept. 9.

Rollins ranked No. 16 in the latest Continental Tires/NSCAA Division II Women’s Rankings and Florida Southern was ranked No. 9 in the South Region.

Story has started every game at keeper for UWF this season while recording 18 saves and a .818 save pct.

UWF will take on Union (Tenn.) on Sept. 14 at 3 p.m. on the road.
