LEXINGTON, Ky. – Following a solid weekend of Gulf South Conference play, the West Florida volleyball team maintained a national ranking for the third straight week this season by coming in No. 21 in the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) Division II Coaches Top-25 Poll released Monday.

West Florida went 2-1 for its first weekend of GSC matches on the road to move to 8-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play. The Argonauts shut down Union 3-0 and played two five-set thrillers, defeating rival North Alabama but falling to Christian Brothers for their only GSC loss of the season. The loss dropped them to No. 21 from No. 17 in last week’s poll.

As a team, UWF set a school record in attack percentage in a single match after combining for an unstoppable .600 clip against Union. Six Argonauts hit over .500 for the match, including Lindsay Homme (Willowbrook, Ill./Hinsdale Central HS), who hit at a .733 rate to rank seventh all-time for hitting percentage in a single match.

The Argonauts play a single match on the road this week at West Alabama in Livingston, Ala., Thursday at 7 p.m. For information on all UWF athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
