Argos maintain No. 2 spot in national poll
UWF is one of four teams to have won every match this season

KANSAS CITY, Kan. – After extending their winning streak to 10 games last weekend, the West Florida women’s soccer team held on to their No. 2 national ranking in the latest NSCAA/Continental Tires Division II poll.
The Argonauts (10-0) are one of four teams to have won every match this season and are one of three teams with 10 wins. The College of Saint Rose (8-0-1) remained No. 1 as the top four stayed the same for the second consecutive week.
In addition, UWF remained the No. 1 team in the South Region for the fourth consecutive week.
Armstrong Atlantic State (6-1-1), the Argos’ opponent on Oct. 8, moved up to No. 7. The only other GSC team in the top 25 was North Alabama (7-1-1) which moved up to No. 14. UNA also moved up to No. 2 in the South Region.
UWF was ranked tied for No. 5 in scoring offense in the NCAA with a 3.50 goal per game average through Sept. 30. The Argos have outscored their opponents 35-9 this season.
UWF plays West Alabama at home in a non-conference game for homecoming Friday at 5 p.m. The Argos play Armstrong Oct. 8 at 4 p.m. at home.
