Argos ranked No. 4 in latest NSCAA poll

West Florida drops to No. 4 nationally, maintains No. 1 spot in South Region

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida women’s soccer team dropped from No. 1 to No. 4 in the latest NSCAA/Continental Ties Division II poll. The Argonauts maintained the No. 1 spot in the South Region for the sixth consecutive week.

The latest rankings reflect play through Oct. 14. In the last week, the Argos suffered their lone loss of the season to now-ranked No. 3 Armstrong Atlantic 2-1 but bounced back and defeated West Georgia 4-0 and South Region No. 4 Valdosta State 1-0.

The Argos (13-1-0) have the best winning percentage of any team in the top-5 with a percentage of .929. Minnesota State-Mankato (12-1-1, .893) was ranked No. 1, Armstrong (11-1-1, .885) was ranked No. 2 and LIU Post (12-1-1, .893) was ranked No. 3.

Minnesota State’s lone loss came to unranked University of Central Missouri 2-1 and its tie was with then-ranked No. 2 Grand Valley State 0-0. Armstrong’s lone loss came to Grand Valley State 3-1 and its tie was with unranked Ferris State 0-0. LIU’s loss came to unranked Caldwell College 3-2 and its tie was with then-ranked No. 17 University of Massachusetts Lowell 2-2.

UWF will host Shorter on Wednesday for senior night at 4 p.m. at the UWF Soccer Complex.
