UWF retains ranking in Learfield Sports Directors Cup standings
West Florida remains at No. 3 in cup standings after Argonaut volleyball’s runner-up finish at regional championship

CLEVELAND, Ohio – The University of West Florida retained its highest ranking in the latest Learfield Sports Directors Cup standings after the completion of the fall NCAA DII Championships. West Florida was previously ranked No. 3 in the standings and remained there after the volleyball team finished runner-up at the NCAA South Regional.
Points are awarded based on each institution's finish in up to 14 sports, seven women’s and seven men’s, to determine the rankings in the Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings. The UWF volleyball team accounts for 64 of the West Florida’s 282 points after finishing runner-up at the NCAA South Regional Championship.
Both UWF soccer teams account for 154 points after each team made it to the NCAA Tournament while the men’s and women’s cross country teams added 64 points after the men finished fifth at the NCAA South Regional meet and the women finished fourth.
Grand Valley State (MI) increased its lead in the Division II Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup standings thanks to a third-place finish in football and ninth-place finish in women’s volleyball.
The Learfield Sports Directors’ Cup was developed as a joint effort between the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and USA Today.
