Men's XC Gets Third Place at Florida State
TALLAHASSEE, FL - West Florida continued to run strong this evening as the Argos placed in third place overall at the Florida State University Invitational. UWF was the top Division II school, and finished in first place within the college division.
FSU finished in first place, while Georgia State was second. UWF came into this weekend's race in fifth place in the region. The Argonauts defeated North Florida and Florida Southern who were both ranked nationally, and ahead of UWF in the region. West Florida also beat four Divsion I schools including Central Florida, Troy State, Florida A&M, and Bethune-Cookman. They went 4-0 against Division II school including North Florida, Florida Southern, Tampa, and Warner. UWF goes to 11-2 on the season against Division II schools.
The Argos had five runners finish within 01:23 of each other. Caleb Carmichael (9th) was the top Argo runner with a 25:34 time for the 8K. The time marked the fifth fastest in UWF history, and his personal best. The folllowing UWF runners finished with these times:
