Men's XC Takes Fourth at GSC Championships
MEMPHIS, TENN. - The West Florida men's cross country team took a fourth place finish in the Gulf South Conference championship meet today hosted by Christian Brothers. Harding won their fourth straight title with all five of their runners in the top five slots. West Florida had a score of 97, just one point behind Alabama-Huntsville. West Georgia placed second with 60 points.
Michael Padilla and Caleb Carmichael earned GSC Second Team honors. Padilla led the Argos' effort at 13th place with an 8K time of 26:46, and Carmichael placed 18th in 27:11. Danny Bauer followed at 21st in 27:14, Ramad Hicks finished 22nd with a time of 27:15, and Jamie Duffell was 23rd in 27:18. Also competing for UWF were Scott Poindexter, placing 35th with a time of 28:32, and Craig Henry at 49th with a time of 30:18.
The Argos will look forward to the NCAA Division II South Regional meet November 8th in Atlanta, Georgia.
