HUNTSVILLE, Ala. - Argo volleyball swept the UAH Lady Chargers 3-0 (25-20, 25-7, 25-17) in a conference matchup on Friday evening. West Florida improved their record to 15-6 on the season, remaining undefeated in GSC play, 5-0. Valissia Brathwaite (British Virgin Islands/Palm Beach CC) was errorless, hitting .727 on the match with 8 kills. Patricia Gandolfo (Porto Alegre, Brazil/Missouri State-West Plains CC) also led offensively, putting down 12 kills for an efficient .400.
Both teams struggled early in set one, as UAH posed a threat for the Argos. But after posting a 25-20 win, West Florida found their rhythm and sailed through the second set. Chelsea Wilhoite (Jacksonville, Fla./Bishop Kenny HS) opened the set with a service ace, setting the pace. The Argos hit .520 as a team in set two, as Brathwaite hit a perfect 1.000. Gandolfo hit for .500, with five kills.
The Argos closed out the match with a 25-17 victory, as Brathwaite continued to lead her team. The junior tallied four kills, with Gandolfo and Calli Kovel (Shorewood, Ill./Charleston Southern) each posting two.
