SKILLMAN, N.J. – The West Florida men’s tennis team dropped one spot to No. 10 in the latest Campbell / ITA Division II Men’s National Rankings released on Tuesday. The Argonauts held strong at No. 5 in the South Region, and they hold an 11-8 record heading into the week.
UWF trails Lynn, Barry, and Gulf South Conference foes Valdosta State and Ouachita Baptist in the South Region rankings, in that order. Freshman Kevin Ducros (Aix-en-Provence, France) is the top-ranked Argonaut singles player at No. 11 nationally and No. 5 in the region. Ducros’ doubles partner and fellow freshman Andrey Pozhidaev (Sochi, Russia) is ranked No. 43 in the nation and No. 14 in the region. The duo forms the No. 8 doubles team in the region, followed by senior Luis Arboleda (Medellin, Colombia) and sophomore Patrick Bateman (Apopka, Fla./Seminole CC/Apopka HS) at No. 12.
