PENSACOLA, Fla. - West Florida sophomore midfielder Keith Savage was named to the 2005 NSCAA/Adidas NCAA Division II Men's All-South Region Team.Savage was one of four midfielders named to the Second Team.
After being named the 2003 Gulf South Conference (GSC) Freshman of the Year, Savage continued to impress this year. Savage started all 16 matches and led the team with 27 points on 10 goals and seven assists. The Gulf Breeze, Fla.native started the season by scoring six goals in the first five matches, including three goals against Spring Hill. Savage collected a point in 12 of the 16 matches, and finished the season with seven points in the last four matches. Savage is currently seventh all-time with 22 goals, and tied for eighth all-time with 54 points. Savage was a First Team All-Conference selection this season.
Savage is the 17th UWF men's soccer player to receive NCAA All-South Region recognition. Twenty-two South Region players were named to the team (11-First Team, 11-Second Team). Five players from GSC schools were named to the First Team and four to the Second Team.
