UWF WOMEN'S CROSS COUNTRY MOVES UP TO NO. 4 IN REGION; MEN RANKED NO. 6

NEW ORLEANS, La. – The West Florida women’s cross country team moved up to No. 4 in the South Region in the latest version of the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association Division II regional rankings released on Tuesday.  The Argos women’s team moved up four spots from No. 8, while the men’s team remained ranked No. 6 in the region.

On the women’s side, the Argos moved into the top spot in the Gulf South Conference, while No. 1 Tampa, No. 2 Nova Southeastern and No. 3 Florida Southern represent the Sunshine State Conference.  Florida Tech jumped up to No. 1 in the men’s regional rankings, followed by the Argonauts’ GSC rival Alabama-Huntsville at No. 2.

The trio of Kelley Bahn (Tallahassee, Fla./Lawton Chiles HS), Aimee Marsh (Traverse City, Mich./Traverse City Central HS) and Renea Porsch (Land O' Lakes, Fla./Land O' Lakes HS) have been UWF’s top three finishers in each of their first three meets on the women’s side.  On the men’s side, Martinique Sykes (Orange Park, Fla./Orange Park HS) has been the Argos’ top finisher each time, followed closely by Eddie Pagan (Stuart, Fla./South Fork HS).
