PENSACOLA, Fla. – Last week the West Florida men’s golf team finished in sixth place at the Bobcat Invitational hosted by Georgia College & State. The men’s tennis team defeated all top ten teams beating No. 3 Barry 5-4, No. 5 Lynn 5-4, and No. 8 Rollins 6-3. The women’s tennis team fell to both No. 3 Lynn and No. 2 Barry but defeated No. 10 Rollins 6-3 and No. 42 Central Oklahoma 8-1. The baseball took two of three games from Christian Brothers while the softball team improved their winning streak to nine games, sweeping Southern Arkansas, Delta State, and Christian Brothers.

Bruno Savi (Santana do Livramento, Brazil/Auburn Montgomery) and the UWF men's tennis team had a stellar week, defeating No. 2 Barry, No. 5 Lynn and No. 8 Rollins, all on the road. Savi had singles and doubles wins in each of the three matches, including singles wins over No. 12 Vlad Cirla of Lynn and No. 11 Jeff Morris of Rollins. Savi and doubles teammate Kevin Ducros are now the top-ranked doubles tandem in the South Region.

Dustin Saulmon (Panama City, Fla./Alabama Southern CC (A. Crawford Mosley HS)) was 6-7 with four runs and two RBIs in the 18-5 win over Christian Brothers. Saulmon's six hits ranks second in the GSC record books in hits in a single game.

Sara Scott (Tallahassee, Fla./Tallahassee CC) pitched three complete games for the Argos this week improving to 7-4 allowing only 5 earned runs and recording 14 strikeouts.
