UWF'S SOUTH REGIONAL SEMIFINALS MATCH POSTPONED ANOTHER DAY DUE TO WEATHER

Argos to Face Florida Southern Tomorrow

BOCA RATON, Fla. – The NCAA South Regional #2 women’s tennis match between No. 9-ranked University of West Florida and Florida Southern College has been postponed to tomorrow morning due to rain. The match was originally slated for Sunday but was pushed to today due to rain. Multiple rain delays have plagued the first semifinals match and moved the UWF match to tomorrow.

In the first women’s semifinals match, host Lynn is facing Florida Tech. The doubles matches were completed and during singles, play was halted for an hour and 15 minutes for rain. The teams were able to get another hour’s worth of play in before another rain delay at 2 p.m. eastern. No. 2-seed Lynn was leading No. 7-seed Florida Tech, 4-1, when play was halted.

The teams are hoping to complete the Florida Tech-Lynn match tonight. No. 3-seed UWF and No. 6-seed Florida Southern will start at 9 a.m. eastern. Live stats, results and a recap of the match will be available on GoArgos.com.

The two winners will play in the finals of South Regional #2 on Thursday at 10 a.m. eastern. The winner of the regional will advance to the NCAA Championships, which will be played May 16-19th in Louisville, Ky. For information on all UWF Athletics, visit www.GoArgos.com.
