PENSACOLA, Fla. – The University of West Florida Department of Intercollegiate Athletics welcomed its new women’s basketball head coach Stephanie Lawrence Yelton in a press conference on Wednesday morning.  Fans, alumni, media and other supporters gathered in the Argonaut Athletic Club to greet Coach Yelton and welcome her to the Argonaut family.

The program started with a statement from UWF President Judith Bense about why Yelton fits the philosophy of the athletic department.  Athletic director Dave Scott then spoke about Yelton’s background and her experience winning championships, and the department’s goals to continue winning championships.  Yelton then spoke about her coaching philosophy and what to expect from UWF women’s basketball in the future.
