VALDOSTA, Ga. -
West Florida led from start to finish at Valdosta State's 19 team Southeastern Collegiate held at the Kinderlou Forest Golf Club's 7255-yard, par 72 layout. The nation's fifth ranked West Florida shot a two-over 866, winning the 54-hole tournament by 22 shots over fourth ranked Lynn. Argo golfer Chris Myers captured the individual crown with a 215.
Myers edged teammates Fredrik Lundberg and Federico Damus who were both one run back at 216. They finished in tie for second place. Matthew Galloway finished with a strong 225 and tied for 18th. Will Grace was tied for 29th with a 227. Myers finished sixth in UWF's last tournament at the Bobcat Invitational.
Other notable teams UWF defeated at Kinderlou were third ranked Florida Southern, Rollins (9th), Armstrong Atlantic (13th), Columbus State (14th)and Florid Gulf Coast (23rd).
The title represents the second of for UWF this 2005-06 season, and first this spring. The win should help springboard West Florida into the Gulf South Conference Championships on April 20-21 in Hot Springs, Ark.
