GALLOWAY LEADS ARGONAUTS TO FIFTH PLACE IN GEORGIA

COLUMBUS, Ga. - West Florida shot a second round 292 on Tuesday and finished in fifth place at the 18-school AFLAC/Cougar Invitational at Green Island Country Club. The Argonauts shot a 575 (283, 292) for the tournament, two shots behind Valdosta St., Georgia College and Barry, who finished tied for second with a 573. Host school Columbus State won the tournament by shooting a 566.

Matthew Galloway (Valrico, Fla./Durant HS) was the highest finishing Argonaut in third place with a 139 (68, 71) total. Matthew Berzovich (Longwood, Fla./Lake Brantley HS) earned his second consecutive top 20 finish in a tie for 17th place with a 143 (69, 74).

Federico Damus (Posadas, Argentina/Roque Gonzalez Institute) shot a 147 (73, 74) to finish tied for 37th. Brian Lawrence (Pensacola, Fla./Pensacola Junior College) finished tied for 43rd with a 148 (75, 73). Leonardo Di Marino rounded out the Argonaut contingent with a 154 (73, 81) to finish tied for 73rd.

West Florida will return to the links on Oct. 16-17 at the Nova Southeastern Fall Invitational at Palm Beach Gardens, Fla. It will be the Argonauts final tournament of the fall schedule.
