PALM BEACH GARDENS, Fla. - West Florida sits in sixth place out of 15 teams at the Nova Southeastern Fall Classic hosted by the par 72, 6,806 yard PGA National Resort and Spa course. Federico Damus is looking to capture UWF's first individual title of the 2006-07 season. Damus is tied for second and two shots off leader Baxter Culler of USC-Upstate.
Damus has a 145 (+1) through two rounds, including a 72 in round two. Matthew Berzovich is tied for 12th with a 149 (+5). Matthew Galloway has put up a 155 (+11) and is tied for 41st. Brian Lawrence shot a pair of 78's for a 156 (+12) and is tied for 46th. James Morrison is tied for 52nd with a 158 (+14).
The Argonauts have a 605 through two rounds and are 12 shots off leader Eckerd College. Valdosta State is the only other Gulf South Conference team competing. The Blazers are in 10th place.
The NSU Fall Classic is loaded with NCAA Division II top ten teams including #5 West Florida (6th), #1 Florida Southern (9th), #3 Valdosta State (10th), #4 Nova Southeastern (7th), and #6 Barry (T-4th), and #7 Armstrong Atlantic (12th). The final round starts tomorrow morning.
