Cheerleading
The University of West Florida Cheer Program is a student sports club. The primary focus of our program will be on academics prior to cheering to find a balance between becoming a strong student as well as a cheerleader.
Being a part of the University of West Florida Cheer Program will provide the cheerleader with many rewarding life-lessons that will enhance their experience as a college student at the University of West Florida. These lessons include enhancing leadership abilities, communication, confidence, time management, and responsibility. There is a great responsibility of squad members of the University of West Florida's Cheer Program in that the cheerleaders are ambassadors to the University and represent the school, city, state and nation. Squad members will uphold the values of the Cheer Program and University of West Florida at all times.

On tryout day, signs on campus will point to the proper location. Those wishing to try out should come dressed in a plain white T-shirt and royal blue shorts. No jewelry of any kind will be permitted during the tryout.
In order to participate in the tryout, prospective cheerleaders will need to have a medical waiver filled out and signed, a recent physical form from a licensed physician dated after March 1, 2011 and a current health insurance card.

YOU MUST BRING to try-outs:
Try-out packet will be available at practice.
Wear Cheer appropriate attire, hair up, NO JEWELERY and cheer shoes. If the dates do not fit with your schedule please email the coach to set a meeting that works for you.
There is a $15 tryout fee for those who have not participated in the UWF Cheer Program before, and a $10 fee for returners.
