UWF Field House

The UWF Field house is the home of UWF men’s and women’s basketball and volleyball teams. It was opened in 1971 built of brown brick with a reddish colored roof of weathering steel with an original seating capacity of 4,500.
In 1997 new scoreboards were installed at both ends of the court and year later, in 1998, a new roof was put on. In 1999 a new Tartan floor surface was laid, in 2000 a new sound system was installed, in 2001 new bleachers with chair back seats were put in and in 2009 the floor received a new paint job. In 2010 the men’s and women’s lockers rooms underwent complete renovation with new lockers and amenities.
The courts are surrounded on three sides by teaching facilities, specialized classrooms and studios. There is a large foyer at main entrance with box offices, concessions, trophy cases, large men’s and women’s locker rooms and a training room. The West Florida athletics weight room is also located in the UWF field house.
The UWF Field House has served as host of the 2006 National Volleyball Championships and basketball and volleyball camps and tournaments.
