GAME NOTES: Argos Battle Chargers in Final Regular Season Game

PENSACOLA, Fla. – The West Florida men’s soccer team heads to Gulf South Conference opponent Alabama-Huntsville this Sunday October 30 at 2:30 p.m. The Chargers lead the GSC in every major offensive category and will be a preview of things to come in the GSC tournament which West Florida has already clinched a berth to.

GSC Tournament:
The Argonauts have clinched their GSC tournament title berth going 3-1 in the GSC. UWF will host the GSC tournament on November 4/6 in Pensacola, Fla. at Brosnaham Park. The Argos are in search of their sixth straight GSC title.
It’s showtime:
The Argos head to Alabama-Huntsville this week for their final regular season game. The Chargers, 10-4, 3-1 GSC, are currently on a two game winning streak and lead the GSC in every major offensive category.
200 wins:
Head coach Bill Elliott is closing in on his 200th win as head coach at West Florida. Coach Elliott is 198-85-27 at UWF and looks to obtain his 200th win in the GSC tournament.
GSC Leaders:
UWF is leading the conference in corners per game (8.00) and in shots per game (15.75).
Home sweet home:
West Florida was flawless at home this season finishing 5-0-2. The Argos made the final home game against Harding interesting going into overtime. It could not have been more fitting that four year UWF senior Marquel Waldron scored the winning goal for the Argos to clinch the perfect 2011 home record.
