BOCA RATON, Fla. – Matt Sullivan, Andrew Vaccacio, Tony Kucera and Matthew Estrada have been named to the D2CCA All-South Region teams. Sullivan and Vaccacio have been named First Team All-South Region, and Kucera and Estrada have been named Second Team All-South Region.
An outfielder from Orlando, Sullivan has enjoyed a phenomenal senior season. He was also a First Team All-GSC selection and was named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team. He is tied for second in the Gulf South Conference with 50 runs scored. He is tied for third with 17 doubles and ranks seventh in the conference with a .570 slugging percentage. He is eighth with 44 RBIs.
Sullivan also ranks among the leaders in the South Region. The Dr. Phillips High alum is tied for third in the region with 17 doubles. He is ninth in the region with 50 runs scored and also ranks among the regional leaders in hit-by-pitches.
Vaccacio has performed admirably all season on the mound for the Argonauts. The lefty transfer from Appalachian State is the owner of the fifth-lowest ERA in the region at 2.35. The senior starter is sixth in the region with a 2.35 ERA.
A fellow Dr. Phillips High alum, he adds the All-Region selection to a growing list of accolades that includes the GSC Pitcher of the Year Award and a First Team All-GSC selection. He is 6-1 on the season and carried a no-hitter into the sixth inning of the Gulf South Conference championship game vs. Delta State.
Kucera has enjoyed an impressive season on and off the field. The senior lefty starter has earned eight wins on the mound this season, which ties him for the third-most in the conference. He is fifth in the GSC with 83 innings pitched and seventh with 20 strikeouts looking this year. Like Sullivan, he was also named to the Google Cloud Academic All-District® Baseball Team and First Team All-GSC.
The Robertsdale High alum is tied for third in the South Region in victories. He is tied for 10th in the region with a 1.17 WHIP. He is also just one of 11 pitchers in the South Region to allow 2.00 walks or less per nine innings this year.
Estrada, a Pensacola Catholic alum, has continued to impress in his sophomore campaign after notching the GSC Freshman of the Year Award in 2018.
A First Team All-GSC selection in 2019, Estrada the outfielder from Pensacola was sixth in the GSC with a .378 average and seventh with a .469 OBP at the end of the regular season. Estrada is now 12th in the South Region with a .383 batting average. He is also eighth in the region with 1.45 hits per game this year.
